This purchase comes with a carrying pouch so you do not have to buy another one if you do not mind thin padding. After I have all the other games and unnecessary programs removed from the machine, this is absolutely the best machine to use daily. The mouse pad has the best feature that I did not see in other notebook. You can expand and scroll up and down the screen with the touch of your fingers. After this machine, I do not see myself going back to the big desk top or regular size laptop.

I only use it at school for essays; this is great for me because of its light weight and long battery life.

I love this little computer! I had a dell Inspiron running windows XP and i decided to get this to use for school. Well that worked for about a few weeks until i gave my dell to my brother and use this as my main one. let me tell you windows 7 is amazing the starter version let’s you have more than just 3 windows open. Another great thing about this is the customer service is grat I broke my screen after i broke th screen we shipped it off they sent it back and did’t charge us a dime!

I prefer Macs over PCs but needed something small and cheap to take with me on trips. This was the perfect solution. Does everything I need it to, which is your basic web stuff. With everything online these days, there is really no need to a ton of software, so that is nice. Wireless and cam work great, which allows me to keep connected when I’m away. That is a big plus.

I’ve owned the Asus for a about a month-and-a-half now, and have been very happy with it’s performance and size. I did purchase a 2GB stick of RAM for it, which I would recommend, as well as a small carrying case to keep things neat. It has worked flawlessly to date. I remember reading someone’s review indicating that it seemed to get overly warm with operation; I have not found that to be the case. Asus indicates the battery should run for 8.5 hours between charges, but I suspect under normal operation that might be a bit overly-optimistic. That being said, the battery does last quite a while before a re-charge is needed, and I like the fact that I can replace the battery myself if needed. It also runs very quietly and that’s a plus. I’m running most of my desktop apps on this machine as well and have had no issues. I would highly recommend this netbook for consideration.

This is a handy device. The battery life is good although not as long as advertised.
It downloads fast; the keyboard is quite comfortable to use; the screen is fine; there are sufficient port, inputs, etc.
However, during an upgrade from ASUS (not from Microsoft, Adobe nor any of the browsers which I have installed, the system CRASHED and I had to use the recovery disc to reinstall Windows XP. So far, the netbook is working well (cross fingers).

I decided to purchase this one because it met and exceeded my requirements for a NETBOOK. The specs on this baby match up better than most. Great keyboard and mouse, keys feel great, wireless n, fast boot, upgradeable from 1GB to 2GB, user friendly ASUS Bios updater interface, Microsoft works, lightweight. You must understand first the context of my statement. I wanted a NETbook. Not a Laptop. I didnt want an “ultimate” or Professional” version of ANYTHING running on this NETbook. I wanted it to be lean and mean. I wanted a small, powerful, convenient AND FAST NETbook for casual surfing and email. If you wanted more, your in the wrong market. I didnt buy this to play games, edit, video, watch TV or DVD’s, etc. Like I said I didn’t want a Laptop. Windows Starter 32 bit is an excellent match for a NETbook. Think of Windows 7 Starter as just that, the place to start. I figured, if I NEED an “anytime upgrade” Ill get it. At this point, having had used it for a week, I’m not changing a thing. Less is more with a NETbook. Ill save upgrades for my LAPtop and DESKtop. From when I push the power button to my first opening click of Firefox = less than one minute. I removed some preloaded crapware, i.e. ASUS whistles and bells and some preloaded games. Added Norton Internet Security Netbook Edition, and bingo, the perfect NETbook.
