Acer Aspire One AOD250-1610 10.1-Inch Ruby Red Netbook - 6.5 Hour Battery Life Review

Acer Aspire One AOD250-1610 10.1-Inch Ruby Red Netbook - 6.5 Hour Battery Life
I bought this little Acer netbook for my 12 year old son. He LOVES IT!!!! HE CAN PLAY ON-LINE GAMES WITH HIS FRIENDS ACROSS THE COUNTRY AS WELL AS FROM HIS SCHOOL. It was the best investment I’ve ever made for him!! Was totally worth it and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a small computer. I also have one and I use it for social networking as well as on-line banking. Great product!!

MSI U230-033US 12.1-Inch Netbook - 4 Hour Battery Life Review

MSI U230-033US 12.1-Inch Netbook - 4 Hour Battery Life
I’d never heard of MSi - before browsing online for a laptop a couple months ago, but must say I am very impressed with the quality of this little laptop! It’s nicer than the 00 Dell I use at the office.

At 12″, this computer was the perfect size for me. I was underwhelmed by the traditional 10″ netbooks when I tried them out at a local retailer - screen was too small for me, and I didn’t care for the cramped keyboard. Nor the Windows 7 starter edition or slow CPU.

Toshiba Mini NB305-N410BL 10.1-Inch Royal Blue Netbook - 11 Hours of Battery Life Review

Toshiba Mini NB305-N410BL 10.1-Inch Royal Blue Netbook - 11 Hours of Battery Life
I’m very happy with this notebook. Excellent screen, very comfortable to type. Battery life is excellent. Had to remove few trial programs and it took me 15 minutes to clean it up.
I also had download an updated driver for the speakers as under existing driver the sound is very very low. Surprisingly, Toshiba does not have an updated driver listed on their website, so I had to get it from Realtek website. Once I did that, the sound improved significantly and I keep it in 60-70% level now. There is a topic on Toshiba board that discusses about this issue and solution in details. Fix does work. (at least in my case).
In regards to vibration issue, I also did get the notification that my hard drive was moved to safe location, but other than that, it did not affect the performance of the netbook. I just checked off this notification to not to see in the future.
I bought this notebook mostly for internet, Skype and movies. And once i solved the sound issue, everything work really good. No problem with Skype and playing different format movies. (I did install VLC player that plays everything without any issues).
This notebook does get hot, but I think this is the issue with most of the notebooks.
I also ordered 2GB RAM, but not because it’s needed, just to have it ;-)

Samsung N130-13P 10.1-Inch Pink Netbook - Up to 6.2 Hours of Battery Life Review

Samsung N130-13P 10.1-Inch Pink Netbook - Up to 6.2 Hours of Battery Life
I bought this for my nieces who are 7 and 9 and they love it. Of course the pink color helps. They even had fun setting it up, giving it a name (Lilly) etc.
The internet works well and is easy to set up. Programs can be added by downloading or transfering the install files to a usb flash drive. It is lightweight and has a good battery life. There is a program to adapt screen resolution for programs that need it. Webkinz didnt work initially but then we found a link to an adapted version and it works great! The kids were just searching the web the other day for a paper on MLK. It is so portable they use it in the kitchen at home (under supervision while mom and dad are cooking) or they bring it to grandma’s house. It is quiet and the underside only gets a little warm. Overall a fantastic purchase for under [...] bucks. The only criticism I have is that the Samsung website is a little light on support and we couldn’t figure out how to activate the one year free of microsoft office. I set up a free message board on quicktopic so we can keep in touch easily as well as a private family video account on you tube so they can watch baby videos and other events we have filmed over the years.

Acer Aspire One AOA110-1995 8.9-Inch Seashell White Netbook - 2.5 Hour Battery Life Review

Acer Aspire One AOA110-1995 8.9-Inch Seashell White Netbook - 2.5 Hour Battery Life
ok, this is a fine netbook. The typical netbook spec (1.6 atom cpu, integrated graphics, 1gb ram…),
which is same as most more expensive netbooks (with large sata hard drives).
runs most streaming videos flawlessly, (hulu, HQ on youtube, though not HD…)
and even 720p HD videos (not streaming 720p, due to software limitations by flash).

but this specific version of Aspire One, (Acer Aspire One AOA110) use a very slow SSD.
this specific SSD’s write speed is very slow, with random pauses during extensive use.
Its low write speed slows down almost everything, even web surfing.

HP Mini 311-1000NR 11.6-Inch Black Netbook - Up to 6.25 Hours of Battery Life Review

HP Mini 311-1000NR 11.6-Inch Black Netbook - Up to 6.25 Hours of Battery Life
Purchased the HP Mini311 through Verizon Wireless as part of a broadband (3G) data package. The unit came with 2gigs of memory; a 160gb hard disk, and Windows7 Home Premium. I added a usb wireless mouse, a Microsoft 6000 bluetooth mobile keyboard, ZAGG usb external speakers and an HP external DVD drive. Total outlay of less than 0. (Of course, I pay per month for 3G service but I have to connect to the internet when traveling even when I don’t have access to wifi so that was a necessity.)

Dell Inspiron iM1012-687CRD Mini 1012 10.1-Inch Cherry Red Netbook - Up to 8 Hours 8 Minutes of Battery Life Review

Dell Inspiron iM1012-687CRD Mini 1012 10.1-Inch Cherry Red Netbook - Up to 8 Hours 8 Minutes of Battery Life
I just got the Dell Mini 1012 Netbook… and choose this over ASUS 1005, HP 210 and Samsung mainly because of three reasons:

One, its feels solid…feel more like a laptop.. not any cheap old plastic netbook,
Second, the keyboard rocks, simply amazing to type… its not a chiclet keyboard :) but feels like a real-keyboard. I am typing a little over 80 WPM on it (thats what I get on my regular laptop).. :)
Finally, the screen is amazing, very clear and bright, better than ASUS or HP or MSI .. go to a store like BestBuy and see them in action and compare. YouTube picture quality has been amazing.

Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 10.1-Inch Obsidian Black Netbook - Up to 8 Hours 8 Minutes of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 10.1-Inch Obsidian Black Netbook - Up to 8 Hours 8 Minutes of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I bought it after 3 months of research, I wasn’t to sure about it but I decided I was going for it after reading some pretty good stuff about it. For now, I love it! It’s very good. It’s size fit perfectly to my life for I can carry it anywhere! My older sister is even jealous because my battery stays longer than her laptop :) .. I use the wireless to go on facebook, tchek my email, go on msn.. The only thing is that it’s kind of slow when I want to watch a movie or go on youtube.. I have to put down the volume, wait hours before I could watch it without disruption. But it’s not it fault, it’s the wireless. I recommend it to everyone that needs something lighter and cheaper than a laptop! It might not fit everyone’s style, so If you are not satisfy don’t blame the notebook!
