Toshiba Mini NB205-N330BN 10.1-Inch Sable Brown Netbook - 9 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

This is now previous generation model. I got it for well under 0. I still highly recommend it.
BTW, I upgraded mine to 2gig.

I’m a student and bought this netbook for taking notes, battery life and portability. It has been wonderful. My only problem was with a faulty audio software install that made the headphone jack not function. A random reboot when trying to install printer software solved the problem. Also, the speaker is tiny and you can barely hear on full volume, so you definitely need external speakers/headphones for music or videos. The battery life is fantastic - it lasts anywhere from 6-8 hours, recharges quickly, and lasts for days when hibernating. The appearance is great, overall an excellent purchase for everyday use.

I’m very happy with this notebook. Excellent screen, very comfortable to type. Battery life is excellent. Had to remove few trial programs and it took me 15 minutes to clean it up.
I also had download an updated driver for the speakers as under existing driver the sound is very very low. Surprisingly, Toshiba does not have an updated driver listed on their website, so I had to get it from Realtek website. Once I did that, the sound improved significantly and I keep it in 60-70% level now. There is a topic on Toshiba board that discusses about this issue and solution in details. Fix does work. (at least in my case).
In regards to vibration issue, I also did get the notification that my hard drive was moved to safe location, but other than that, it did not affect the performance of the netbook. I just checked off this notification to not to see in the future.
I bought this notebook mostly for internet, Skype and movies. And once i solved the sound issue, everything work really good. No problem with Skype and playing different format movies. (I did install VLC player that plays everything without any issues).
This notebook does get hot, but I think this is the issue with most of the notebooks.
I also ordered 2GB RAM, but not because it’s needed, just to have it

Had a ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE-PU17-BK 10.1-Inch Black Netbook, almost DOA, Amazon was great returned it PostPaid no trouble so we bought this Toshiba Netbook, great machine, biggest reason its RAM is upgradeable very very easy….like falling of a log!
Long battery life, very nice looking, Amazon was great.
Only drawback would like to have had Win7 come on it but with two Gigs can buy that later.

It has Windows 7, is light and extremely portable, and I use it for email and searching for local info when I travel. touch pad is easy to use, and keyboard is a nice size considering the overall netbook size.

Love this netbook! The battery life is amazing. It works perfectly in wifi spots and is easy to connect. I bought it for the battery life and the keyboard. The keyboard types very easy and the keys feel good. I downloaded a couple of games, Scabble and Hoyle Card games. I play bridge and the different types of solitare on the Hoyle product. The netbook is fast on the internet and isn’t bogged down with all the stuff you might have on your home pc or laptop. It is so easy to throw in your bag to carry along - light weight and just the right small size. E-mail works great - I highly recommend this product.

The title pretty much says it, except that I also love the keys having spaces between them. I fat finger the heck out of keys when typing and these keys are MUCH easier to hit accurately.
The only down side is the tiny screen. It takes getting used to. Makes my old laptop screen look like an IMAX movie theater in comparison! It really does.

I bought this notebook after doing a bit of research on similar machines available on the market. I would say I’m not disappointed with my choice. It’s a sleek, eye-cathcing design. The major pluses are Win 7, N280 processor,9-hour battery life, and the possiblity of expanding the RAM (it comes with a 1 GB RAM). It’s not surprising that the notebook gets a bit slow while multitasking, so expanding the RAM will help. Because of the battery, the notebook is a bit heavier (about three pounds) than some other comparable machine available, but those machines lack many great features that Toshiba Mini NB205 have. Two other important things to mention are its great WiFi reception and good results of the webcam. This notebook is a bit pricey, but it’s worth it.

Bought as a second laptop for around the house and for returning to college.
LOVE the size. Fits right in my school bag. So far, it is operating well.
Good battery life.
Great keyboard, feels almost full size, easy to type on. Touchpad is easy to use. I rarely pull my mouse out.
Screen is just big enough that there is no horizontal scrolling necessary.
